The Rehy Fox is a local folktale from the Loop Head peninsula. The narrator's voice is that of Marty Keane
from Tullig, a local seanchaĆ known for his story telling, and for this story in particular.
Rehy hill, where this
infamous fox was said to live, could be seen from Marty's window. The animation was made with sand from the local
beach, and sound recordings were made in the exact location where the story is set. The film portrays the archetypal
character of the trickster fox, and attempts to convey something of the magical realism that Marty's generation
still kept alive in their consciousness. Sadly Marty himself passed away during the making of the film.
